First and foremost, it is important to understand that the wax produced by our ears is essential. Contrary to what you may believe, it is not just there to annoy you, and make you believe that your ears are dirty. In reality, far from making them dirty, it protects them. The wax prevents dust, dirt, insects and all sorts of other things from entering into the ears. It also allows for good transmission of sound and it protects the ear drum. The majority of people use cotton buds to clean their ears, but beware -in terms of removing wax, all they do is push it into the back of the ear, which could, over time, lead to blocked ears, ear infections and even damage to the ear drum. Therefore discover this great tip for cleaning your ears in a safe manner!
All you need is a damp tissue and your baby finger! You simple need to wipe the tissue from the inside to the outside of your ears. In this way, you remove any dirt without damaging your ears. If your ears are feeling very irritated or blocked, other natural solutions exist:
- A mix of bicarbonate of soda and water
- A spray of sea water
- A mix of water and oxygenated water
Pour any of these liquids into each ear and leave to work for a few minutes or hours before cleaning what comes out of them with a damp tissue or a cotton swab and your finger.
You should not use these products daily; once or twice a month will suffice.
