Earphones are everyday objects that tend to end up everywhere and anywhere, thanks to their daily journeys in your handbags, your rucksacks, your pockets -in short, they go just about everywhere with you! And if somebody borrows your headphones and you’re a bit of a clean freak, the idea of both parties’ ear wax mixing together is not the most appealing… And all it takes is one little ear infection to almost become afraid of using your earphones.

However, there is a very simple way of cleaning them without damaging them. Here are the step by step instructions. We advise that you complete this fast and easy cleaning technique once a month to ensure optimal hygiene and to take care of your headphones.

What you need:

  • An old toothbrush
  • A cotton bud
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Kitchen paper
  • Optional: soapy water for the silicone protectors that go on the earphones.

Method:

  1.  Use an old clean toothbrush to gently scrub the earphones.
